I usually prefer text first. It works better for links, logs, context, and not having to repeat everything twice.
Good reasons to message me
- You have a question about linux, servers, mail, hosting, or infrastructure
- You want to show me something interesting, niche, or slightly cursed
- You want to talk about a project, collaboration, or something I could help with
- You found something on this site and felt like saying hi
- You are a real person with a real thought
Before you send anything dramatic
You do not need to write a formal introduction, optimize your wording, or pretend to be more professional than you are.
A simple “Hey, I saw your site and wanted to ask about x” is completely fine.
I may reply quickly, or after a bit, depending on life, work, and whether I am currently being held hostage by something unnecessarily technical.
